Genomely is a group that aims to combine genome evolution and software engineering to elucidate the origin of phenotypes important to human welfare, democratize bioinformatics, and pave way for data sharing and accessibility. For example, Genomely provides ClipKIT, an alignment trimming toolkit, as a free to use browser application.
